Russian minister says Italian PM stands for lifting of sanctions
ROME, Dec 17 (PRIME) -- Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has confirmed the country’s commitment to the removal of sanctions against Russia, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said after a meeting on Monday.
“Our Italian colleagues, firstly, represented by the prime minister of Italy, are strongly aimed at the fastest possible lifting of the sanctions,” the Russian minister said.
In 2014, relations between Russia and the West deteriorated to their worse since the Cold War due to a military conflict in Ukraine. The West has introduced several sets of sanctions against some Russian individuals and companies, the energy and banking sectors since then.
